Outdoor Activities for Families

Posted on: May 13th, 2013 by Pulse No Comments

Outdoor Activities For FamiliesIt is important for a family to spend time together and bond over a fun activity but sometimes as a parent you run out of ideas of what to do.   Too much time spent in front of the TV, computer or playing video games is not healthy for kids so it is up to you to get them involved in some new family activities that will keep everyone happy.  You can play outdoor games like kickball or dodge ball and if any of your kids are good at sports you can make separate teams and compete against each other.

If you don’t want to set up an organized game you can just do individual activities together like skating, freestyle scooters or biking on a trail.  A long ride on a kids scooter or bicycle can be good exercise while spending quality time together.  You can bike to the beach or the park and have more play time once you finally arrive.  You can pack some food and have a picnic outside or hang out on the playground with the kids.

Even though most people assume that hiking is more of an adult activity, there are plenty of easy hikes that are available for kids to enjoy too.  Look for a shorter trail without too much incline and you and your family can enjoy nature together and take in the view and the end of the trail.  A hiking trail with a waterfall or a river can be especially exciting for kids and adults alike.  Whether you play games, hop on a new scooter, or go on an easy hike your family will enjoy the time spent together and the chance to get out of the house and do something different.  Your family will feel closer after a long day outdoors in the sun. The Spiritual Side Of Riding A Bike Or Scooter

Posted on: April 19th, 2013 by Pulse No Comments

Spiritual RidingPeople who opt to ride a bicycle, motorcycle, or scooter are often quite passionate about their transportation. Making the decision to give up on driving a car and choosing an alternative mode of transportation is a deliberate action. Ask anyone who has done this and they’ll be sure to have an interesting back story as to why.

Every year at a cathedral in New York City, bicyclists, scooter riders, and even children with wagons gather to have their wheels blessed. For many, the occasion marks the start of the riding season and gives them a sense of peace and safety as they once again take to the streets. And those streets can be mean, especially in New York City.

But these bike and scooter enthusiasts claim that their way of riding is the only way to truly experience the city and that it’s akin to a spiritual experience for them. For some of these riders, cars are the enemy and they would never go back to using the gas guzzling monsters. Other riders are less fervent about hating cars, but still say they would never give up their wheels. The riding experience surpasses any other means of transportation.

Scooter GamesA New Approach To Education

Education is one of the main concerns of parents everywhere.  There is a large amount of concern that is devoted to the activities and studies that are done within the schools that we send our children to.

This is a just cause, we want the best for our children and are concerned about things that will shape their minds and make them more or less impressionable to certain aspects in life.  There is a new fad that is coming up that could change the way physical education is approached in schools.  Scooter games are slowly being integrated into physical education classes around the nation.

This is a great opportunity for children to grow and experience an outside the box type approach to physical education.  There are many children who have received scooters as presents for Christmas or their birthdays and what better way to utilize them than to have scooters games in P.E.?

Realistically there are many different ways that you can incorporate scooters into games within the curriculum and it is a great way for kids to stay connected and interested in what they are allowed to do.  The fact that schools are staying relevant is a great move and it seems to be a win-win situation.
